LION Smart Production GmbH confirms signing of contract for own production site in southern Thuringia
Baar (CH), June 15, 2022 – LION Smart Production GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of LION E-Mobility AG for the production of electrical energy storage and lithium-ion battery system technology, confirms the signing of the contract for a plant as its own production site in southern Thuringia.
The plant in Hildburghausen has a total area of almost 4500m2, divided into production, storage and administration. Furthermore, the location has an expansion reserve for possible future production expansions. In the next step, LION Smart Production GmbH will relocate its headquarter from Garching to Hildburghausen.
A multi-year rental agreement was concluded, which now gives LION the necessary planning security for its production. After the contract has been signed, the necessary reconstruction of the building can now be started.
As explained during the last investor call, LION Smart Production GmbH has also carried out extensive recruitment activities besides the reconstruction planning on the site.
In addition to the responsible plant manager, additional 8 employees have been hired, completing now the operations team for taking over the production line and on-site training. The new employees will start their work at LION Smart Production in the third quarter, depending on their individual notice period.
LION Smart Production GmbH will provide information on further progress at the production site in due course.
